Why did I go here for my birthday dinner??? When there are such amazing restaurants in Delray Beach!!! I really wanted to try this place for awhile. But I was sadly disappointed. First off our server was tired or annoyed. He hardly said anything and seemed to disappear. We waited a good 10 to 15 minutes after our meal for him to come back so we could ask for a dessert menu. We ended up just asking for the check since it took too long. I really did like the whole set up of Salt7. It's a contemporary minimalist appearance restaurant. They have comfy seating inside and outdoors to enjoy the Atlantic Ave. As far as the food is concerned we ordered a couple of sushi rolls and appetizer. They are known for their sushi or steak. Since we do not eat steak we ordered sushi. The sushi rolls had very high quality seafood within them. However some of the roll pieces were falling apart in one of the rolls. We ordered the chili shrimp appetizer which was delicious and the sauce was on point. I would like to try their seafood entrees next time but I'm not sure if I'm going back. The service was indifferent and maybe the servers don't care since many tourists come there. Salt7 you have a lot going for you: your in a great location, you serve high quality food. Please get your servers on check.~

Salt7 is a fusion of a steakhouse n seafood plus sushi. A perfect delray Atlantic avenue restaurant. The place is definitely on the meat packing district style compared to some of the other charmed restaurants across the street like trimonte. Now the prices are on the higher side but that is expected as they must be paying an arm and a leg for rent. We tried the shrimp with the salt7 sauce which was very delicious and we tried 2 rolls shrimp tempura once again with the tasty salt7 sauce and the aloha roll which was definitely different than any other rolls we have ever tried. As far as service is concerned it was average and could have definitely been better but I guess on a Sunday night everyone is tired and so was our server and most probably wanting to get out of work. But I still gave it a 4 stars. P.S Wednesday nights they have $4 sushi not sure but will try to catch a Wednesday next time.

Oh Salt 7, your happy hour has lured me in time after time. The happy hour here is one of the best on the ave. Delicious and very reasonably priced craft cocktails and beer, and a bar bits menu that will blow you out of the water (get the crispy lamb mac n cheese and the filet sliders!). They have this house sauce that is liquid gold. It comes with the sliders and a bartender told me they also sneak it in that mac n cheese. I can't even describe what is in it - you need to ask for it and thank me when you are done licking the bowl. As far as establishment and staff? They won't hire anyone who doesn't rate at least a 9 - they are all beautiful. Sometimes the service lacks, though. And the clientele gets really questionable (for my taste) after happy hour. But then again, I prefer laid back and welcoming - Salt 7 diners turn into a group that seem to all be trying to out impress each other. But it works for the space - it is gorgeous, and it is wonderful for people watching. If you want to try this place I suggest happy hour first. It is hard to beat and supremely delicious!

The food was tasty (Filet Minion) and my drink was good as well. But the server was great he's the reason I'm this review. He was able to keep my entire group of 8 extremely happy, he was super professional and attentive. He's the reason I'll be coming back the next time I'm in downtown Delray

Salt7 is a good place to people watch and spend a lot of money. A girlfriend and I went for happy hour on a Friday night, drank martinis, ate happy hour food. Four hours later (9 p.m. by this point ... well past happy hour), our bill was near the $100 range! :) And someone even bought us a round. Wow. We definitely had a great time. We enjoyed the Pretzel Dogs and Prime Sliders for food. For drinks, we had a variety of martinis, including The Bohemian, Worthing Watermelon and The Flower. All were equally tasty. But the best part of Salt is by far the people watching. I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb here because it's where all the pretty people go. LOL. Ladies in the shortest and tightest dresses imaginable with the highest heels they can manage hanging on the best-looking guys in Delray. Sit outside at a high-top table and watch people go in and out. The last time I was there, for a friend's birthday party, I saw Hugh Hefner. No joke. Salt is not my first choice for a cocktail, but I'll stop by from time to time for the view.

Happy hour is great. Two hotdogs in pretzel buns are fab. Well worth $6.00. Food is fresh and happy hour great .

This was the first time at Salt 7, the wife has always raved about it! So after heading out from Kapows down in Boca, we decided to stop by. I have to admit, I was very pleased with this establishment. It's A nice looking place and we came in for happy hour on a Sunday and sat outside. Weather was awesome, drinks were great and the food/ sushi - pretty darn good! I had read some of the reviews that were posted before but we didn't have any bad experience whatsoever. The service was exceptional as our waitress always checked on us to see if we needed anything. Salt7 is in a prime location and when my wife and I have come across it, is always packed but this day it was mellow and just right! Will be defiantly coming back here on Sunday's for happy hour! Perfect time, perfect spot and perfect drinks + food!

Awesome Happy Hour. Heather is a great bartender, and the Sushi Pizza is outstanding. Ended up ordering a second one - it was that good! The Fried Artichokes were also delicious. Love the atmosphere/ambiance as well. We'll be back for sure.

Came here for the first time on Sunday night. It was the last night of our trip and this place definitely gave me something to remember. The watermelon martinis were amazing. I ordered the sushi pizza-- killer. We also shared the artichokes (so good!). Someone else at my table ordered the blue crab avocado which iw wasn't too crazy about. Just a bit too fishy. Can't wait to go back.

I was so excited to eat here. I thought overall the food was good. Not great. I was with a big group, and ordered a sushi roll to start as an appetizer and a couple of people in our group ordered stuff from the raw bar. The raw bar appetizer was excellent! But my roll did not come out with it. They brought it out with my meal? So it was a buzzkill for timing. And made me full. I ordered the garlic shrimp, which was good but not fantastic because they were the tiniest shrimp ! This place becomes a club a little bit later in the night which was fun if that's what you are looking for.

Cute place to hangout with friends... Ok food and drinks! But i can't give 5stars because one time i was at the bar ordered regular martini! Some bartender(a blonde girl with an attitude) gave me less than half filled martini. I asked her politely this isn't right. Looks like someone drank my martini before serve! And she gave me dirty look and said We always serve martini like this! She didn't even try to ask me do u want something different.. She just walked away... Nice job! Shit mix drinks all the time when this place is busy!! Just order wine or straight single drink! Lucky this is only place can hangout in delay beach. Somehow this place is packed with tons of guys but not so good looking girls most time! Guessing that's y blonde bartenders think she can have an attitude!

Food was amazing. I ordered the Pop Soda Skirt Steak. They cooked it wrong but they were kind enough to remove it from my check and offer free dessert. Exceptional customer service is a plus.

I am new to the area and really like this place. Both times I have received excellent service. They have really good happy hour. The manager was awesome! Our bartender Dunstan was also very nice. He took great care of us. What topped off our visit was how thoughtful the barback Christian was. He introduced himself and bagged up some exfra sauces to go. Thanks for the nice experiences.

Good happy hour. Oysters are a dollar. They were out of the Florida Shrimp when I arrived. The place is always busy, the girls who work there are beautiful and the music is house. It's worth a shot from 4-7 for happy hour and the nightlife!

Delicious meal - shrimp appetizer, salad wedge loaded, French onion soup, 12 oz filet cooked to perfection. Outdoor seating is first come, last night was a 2 hour wait. Obviously a good place. 5 stars!

I went there last week for the ladies night on a Wednesday. There was a good crowd, atmosphere was nice. Music was good, the service was off to a very slow start. My friend and I were standing at a table outside and it took about 30 mins for someone to take our food order , aside from that servicemen was good especially the bartenders! It was crowded but they were still attentive. Will be back.

As an update to my review: I'm giving them one more star after being contacted by the management about my experience. They are a good establishment and they are concerned about guests experiences. For this reason I will give Salt7 one more chance. Let's see if this next time they can get it right. For now, two stars. Hopefully next time I go in it will be more pleasurable! For those of you out in yelp world who bombarded me with messages saying I'm mean and I should take down my review- get over it. It's an honest review of a personal experience.

Four of us came here, we checked the menu and had high hopes, only to be disappointed at every step of the way. We were brought the pretzels with hot mustard as we were deciding on our meals, 9 out of 10 of the pretzels were sill doughy and every piece had only a grain or two of salt. We ordered drinks and they were out of two of the requested drinks. We placed our order for dinner and they were also out of two of the sides, and one was mashed potatoes... The appetizers came out and some of the edamame was yellowed, the crab bisque was overly spiced and sweet , but tasted good. The French onion soup tasted like it was a store bought packet. The salad was probably the star here.... Next our meals came out and the chicken meal had an odd flavor to it which was unpleasant. The sushi, steak, and shrimp tasted good, but the house steak sauce was very lackluster, and they do not have on hand, typical steak sauces to choose from. If the prices were much lower, this wouldn't be a terrible place to eat, but high prices (averaging $20+/dinner plate) combined with poorly put together recipes, and inattention to cooking times makes this a restaurant the four of us will be sure never to return, or recommend to fiends.

So much food. Seriously so much food and so good. I swear I ate a whole tuna. Perfectly seared, rare to the edges. And holy crap the Mac and cheese with truffles was to die for! Only negative... Small pours of wine, I suggest you buy a bottle.

Food was good, the Bourbon was stupidly expensive We arrived in my friends pickup, valet tells him we don't park trucks but you can park it yourself but you still have to pay the 10 dollar valet fee WTF? Dinner for 4, 400 bucks, 2 small glasses of makers mark 30 bucks Service was good but overall, just ok, I don't think I'll be back.

We've been here a couple times now for the happy hour menu. Hands down the Sushi Pizza is the best thing on there. If you do go for Happy hour, go early b/c the place does fill up quick.

When we walked in we knew it was trouble. Everywhere is packed but this place was a ghost town. We kept an open mind and sat. We were greeted with "we are out of strips" Nice way to start. After 10 minutes I asked if we get bread. "We are out of our regular bread" Give me a break. Paid for my soda and appetizer and went elsewhere never to return.

I'm giving it 3 stars because this is a GREAT place to come have drinks, but I'm not sure I'd eat here again with the exception of the white truffle mac and cheese. I went for a business related dinner and I can't say it was an entirely horrible experience but there were a couple major bugaboos that stuck in my craw. We asked for an assorted sampling of raw bar items, I had assumed we'd get a couple of each item. We (2) were given enough seafood for 4 people to eat for an entree. I love seafood, so that wasn't a huge problem, nor was the unexpected 126 dollar price tag on the appetizer. My gripe was with the U5 Tiger Shrimp and the Florida Pink Shrimp, both were grossly over cooked. Shrimp are delicate, they don't take much, these were steamed to death and then steamed to death again. The U5's, I have a hard time believing were U5's. I've had U8's at home from Costco that were larger but I didn't bring my scale so I won't harp on that. But the overcooking of 52 dollars worth of shrimp wasn't the best way to start the meal. Entree time came, I am a beef fanatic so the 14 ounce Prime NY Strip jumped off the menu at me. I ordered it medium rare (an aristocrat eh) and it came out medium well, with the consistency of saw dust. I'm not sure what it is with Florida restaurants but it's rare (pun intended) that I get a steak cooked a proper medium rare. As a general rule, I never send food back. You can't uncook it and I don't want any beef to ever go to waste. It was also trimmed poorly, which may not be the restaurants fault if they buy them already butchered into steaks. But there was a large amount of inedible gristle around one edge of the steak as well which was a turn off for a supposed prime piece of beef. The mac and cheese was great and for 3 dollars more you can have them add in some white truffle oil, which was awesome. They hit the nail on the head with this dish, and if I go back drinking, I'll definitely order a side of this to much on. I don't doubt the quality of their uncooked product, but if you overcook a shrimp or a steak it doesn't matter the original quality, you'd never be able to tell that shrimp wasn't frozen or that the steak was prime and those are both a shame. I think they need some better instruction in the kitchen, or perhaps this was just a bad night. Side note on the valet: The sign said Parking Full, so I assumed the valet was full, but the Mercedes and Escalade directly in front of me were promptly served by the valet despite the sign reading full. I pulled up and was rudely (and I mean rudely) brushed off by the valet. So I rolled the window down and he said "the sign says full!". I said "It didn't seem full for the two cars ahead of me" and his response was "I know what I'm doing, get out of here". Despite the very rude first impression, I parked elsewhere and returned to spend 300 dollars on dinner, 300 dollars that could have very easily been lost to another restaurant, and probably has been because of this individual.

Went on a Friday night. Had there famous 2014 best boca burger and Dam was it good definitely pricy but if it's good and fresh I don't mind paying for it. Also had one of there famous drinks don't know the name but it had tequila and jalapeño and it was off the chain. Definitely going back when we are in delray

OMG! Weak drinks at happy hour! And god forbid you are a Crown Royal drinker, $24 for two drinks! More like unhappy hour! Too expensive to call yourself happy hour. Walk across the street to Fat Rooster for 1/2 off ALL drinks at 3pm and ask for Crystal who will pour you a nice strong drink for half the price of Salt. They have lost my business for good. Over priced and underdeilvered. While I was eating the mac and cheese with lamb, which was not bad except for the chewy lamb bits in the Velveeta like sauce, I looked over the dinner menue to see if they were a better option for steak and lobster. Much to my dismay their prices were even higher than Prime's, which I didn't think could be possible. Prime was a major rip off as well, see my review, but at least when they are open for happy hour, 4pm in season 5pm out of season, all drinks are 1/2 off. This one star review is solely based on my Happy Hour experience and their dinner menu pricing for the area. When you have three restaurants competing with you directly across the street, under cutting you by 50% on Happy Hour, it's a no brainer where the smart consumer will chose. Rule of thumb, if a restaurant will give a great Happy Hour it's worth trying them for an entire meal.

My sister and I went for happy hour, cute place to people watch during the afternoon..We ordered from the happy hour menu..had sangria, it was ok..not great..for appetizers we had grilled artichoke, some avocado dish, sushi and oysters..halfway through the artichoke we found a hair, but before we noticed it..it was very tasty..We told the waitress and they took it off our bill..The other food was good..I was the only one that had raw oysters and my stomach was not good an hour later...I don't think I will be back for oysters, but I would definitely be back for happy hour and to people watch..

I love salt and go whenever I'm in town. Their happy hour is usually great, it's not over crowded and the foods great. I'm obsessed with the sushi pizza!!! Sounds weird but give it a go, you'll thank me. The service is eh but they're all young, air head college kids so it's fine. The beers are cold and flowing at I think a usual of $4/5 bucks from like 3-7p so that's always nice. If you want a good dance scene and to not be able to move inside, wait and go later like 12-12:30 - it's sardine status in there, not my scene. But I love it, the happy hour does not disappoint.

This is definitely a fun place to come on a Friday or Saturday night to drink and socialize with friends at the bar, its alway a ton of fun and super packed. I do happen to like the food, and the service has always been really good. I am not a fan of their bathrooms though, I wish they would like remodel or fix them, I feel like its just kinda awkward for guys and women to be standing in a line all together, it just makes it super uncomfortable. I love their oysters, miso soup, and seaweed salad. Their Sushi is always really beautiful. I one time got shrimp cocktail and the shrimp were literally a meal on its own, they were absolutely HUGE, they were so good though and cooked to perfection. They have a great list of Martinis as well. The W.W Martini is definitely by far my favorite. Also if you want to eat something light but delicious I definitely recommend having the SALT7 salad. It's my absolute favorite.

The food here is terrible however the night life or after hours is fun. Do not come here to eat after 8 pm, there is no privacy, the service is not good, too many drunk college kids and the quality of food is poor.

Be warned, I'm about to tear Salt7 a new one. How would I describe Salt7? Slow, inattentive, overpriced, poor quality, just plain bad. The only thing going for it is that it's a good place to grab a drink or people watch as there is a very fun crowd there. Normally, I would list a bunch of dishes that I enjoyed about a restaurant but this review would be pretty short if I did that. For starters, the Calamari was bad as all you could taste was batter, and the Lamp Chops were okay but overcooked. The Tiger Shrimp from the raw bar were horrible and the complete opposite of fresh. They tasted old and had a tough texture to them. The sushi was uninspiring and okay tasting but not worth the price. For the entrée, the Chilean Sea Bass was okay but that's attributable to the fish being naturally tasty and hard to overcook. For the sides, I just remember the Brussel Sprouts being really undercooked and really bad. In all, I would not recommend anybody order food here. There are so many options in Delray Beach that there has to be something better. The only thing I can recommend here is to get a drink as it requires no preparation by the kitchen and the atmosphere actually seems good.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally went in for Happy Hour. We sat inside at the bar and the bar servers were all young, pretty girls. They could not give us the time of day. Finally, one came over and got our drink order and she started making our drinks. One of the other servers came up to the bar to get drinks for a table and she stopped making our drinks to get the server her drinks. She finally went back to our drinks and by that time had completely forgotten where she left off in making our cocktails....we had ordered a watermelon martini and she muddled the chunks of watermelon for 1 second and then plopped the big glops of watermelon in a glass and gave it to us. The servers were much more interested in the few men sitting at the bar. As we finished our sloppily made drinks, we watched the bartenders talk, flirt and tend to the men like it was the dating game. This awful bar service really turned us off. We quickly finished our drinks, paid and left. We couldn't even be bothered trying to order food. BAD, BAD customer service. Will never try this place again!!!!

Happy Hour review only. This is a place I really want to give a 4 to - I really enjoyed it, but it has to get a 3. My girlfriend and I were in Delray for the first time and staying at a hotel on Atlantic Avenue. Right after arriving, we went for a walk to find a place to get a couple of drinks and appetizers for happy hour. When we got to Salt 7, we were pleasantly surprised by the awesomeness of their happy hour food menu and cheap martinis. They have a great patio, although unfortunately, no patio seats were available. Still, half their bar is outdoors, so we sat at the bar. Service was good in the sense that the bartender was fairly quick and friendly. She even noticed my girlfriend's "firedancer" pendant and knew it was Dave Matthews (we were going to the west palm beach concerts that weekend), so we spoke for a minute about DMB concerts. The problem is, and why I am giving Salt 7 a 3 instead of a 4, is that the drinks sucked. My Key Lime Pie martini (don't judge me) tasted as much like a key lime pie as this computer does (FYI, my computer does not taste like key lime pie). My girlfriend got a watermelon martini that was supposed to have muddled watermelon. Watermelon is all juice. It should have been easy to muddle. Instead, she was slurping on chunks of watermelon. It was unfortunate our drinks weren't that good, because my food was great. I had filet mignon sliders (filet mignon, sauteed onions, signature steak sauce on a pretzel roll), that was fantastic, and a Tiger Eye sushi roll (tempura salmon, crab stick, asparagus) that was also very good. My girlfriend wasn't as thrilled with hers. It is an expensive menu but if you stick with happy hour, you can save a few bucks. Therefore, that's why I give it the 2 dollar signs instead of 3. Seems a shame I have to lower the grade for poor drinks, but what can ya do? If the drinks were any better, this would have been a fantastic place.

Took Mom here for Mothers Day and she had a wonderful time. Her food was amazing. Our waitress Allison was absolutely amazing and friendly. A true profesional and a complete pleasure. My personal experience with my food, however, was not the best. I ordered the bone in ribeye and it was a total fail. I asked for medium and the first steak they brought in looked like it was boiled so I had to send it back. The second steak looked perfect but it was totally raw and far from medium! Considering it was almost a 40 dollar steak, I was extremely disappointed with the experience. If you're going to charge steakhouse prices for your steak, you need to have people in your kitchen that know how to cook it. The place was far from busy, so a slammed kitchen was not an excuse for the steak fail. I will still rate the place 4 stars, because the overall experience was good. After all, it was Mom's day and that's all that really mattered. She had a wonderful time!

For awesome happy hour deals on food/drinks this is the place! The waitresses are not only beautiful but fast with service. Upon arrival my first time I tried the Miami B Martini now my favorite at this location. Most appetizers are in the $5 range and very tasty! Parking is an issue.... in front of the restaurant is valet however it's $10. If you go across the street to City Oyster and eat/drink you can get your parking ticket stamped and only pay $5 for valet. Salt 7 needs to do this for their customers!

After 55 minutes of waiting for our food my steak came out over cooked. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was spot on medium, this is not the first time my steak has came out different then I ordered and I know it won't be the last as cooks are human. I was very disappointed that the manager had the audacity to then try and explain how my steak was in fact medium rare. I am a steak fanatic and I've been to every steak house from Fort Lauderdale to Delray. Some places consider cooking temps a little different but the waitress explained there temp scale when she took our order. Between the lack of service, our waitress coming to check on us one time in the 55 minute wait for our food and the managers attitude bringing my plate back out to the table after the food runner took it to the back I won't be back. For 50$ steak prices a la carte I would go MANY other locations. My wife had the mango sushi roll, it was fresh but lacked much flavor. The manager did come to the table at the end and give me a gift card to come back in the future. He did try after I explained I was upset with the way he handled the situation.

Stopped here for drinks on Friday and Saturday night, as it was one of the more happening spots of the weekend. Friday night was much better, as it was more crowded and the crop of girls hanging out were top notch. The female bartenders are cute, so it makes it easy to wait for your drinks. The bathroom situation in this bar is TERRIBLE however, as there is a longer line for the Men's room than the Women's. Saturday we stopped in for a drink before dinner and then again afterwards. Another positive for this place is the outdoor seating along the side ( bar stools and couches ) which make for a more casual experience while at Salt7.

Service is decent if you can actually get their attention and flag them down in the first place. But, 'bouncers' that work there are absolutely horrible, rude and unprofessional.

My co-worker informed me that they do half price sushi night every Wednesday so I really wanted to go try that. It's great because if you go during happy hour you get that special too. The happy hour drinks were awesome, and $4 for a martini is a bargain, and they do not skimp on the alcohol they are very strong and and yummy drinks! The half price sushi and happy hour food menu was very good as well good choices and varieties. I don't know if I would go for regular dinner because it is expensive but I'm fine with just going for happy hour. I would have given 4 stars if the service was better but it was just ok for such a fancy place.

My friends and I have been having a great time at Salt7, especially late-night. It's one of the few places on Atlantic Avenue that are open until 2am and actually serve food until too. I haven't sat down and had a full dinner there yet, but the late-night bites have all been excellent. I was also there for the ribbon-cutting ceremony there last Wednesday with the mayor, city commissioners, and the Chamber of Commerce, and the event was great. Awesome sliders, great salmon, and scrumptious tuna tartare. The staff is very attractive, and it's definitely the new hot spot in Delray. I'll update this review once I'm able to enjoy a nice, full, sit-down dinner.

I'd been avoiding Salt since they opened because my perception was that this is a dooshy place. Every time I walk by in the evenings, I see dooshy looking people hanging out. Not my thing. Recently though, a friend told us about their sushi specials on Wednesday nights. Oh boy! So, hubby and I, along with our friends ventured in there around 6pm last night for Happy Hour and their Wednesday sushi deal. Ok, I'm a changed woman. First, I saw no dooshes. I think they only show up after dark, and well, it's summertime so it was still nice and light out at 6pm and when we left around 7:30. The $4 sushi deal is available ALL DAY Wednesdays and the menu is sizeable. They offer sashimi and maki rolls, with a variety of choices for both vegetarians and seafood eaters. On the regular Happy Hour menu, they've got a LOT of great options in the $7-$8 range as well as $4 martinis. Try the watermelon one. OMG, so good! The blood orange (I only had sips of these) was a bit on the strong side, but my friend had the Key Lime martini and that was really good as well. I'm happy to say that Salt7 has won me over, at least for their Wednesday night deals, and before the dooshes come out to troll.

There are quite a few very good restaurants in Delray... Salt7 ranks right up there with the best of them. Fish, beef, apps, entrees.. each time we visit they're consistently near perfect. They say everything served is within 24hours fresh and judging from the taste we'd have to agree that's a very believable declaration. And be sure when you visit to request a table with TERRA as your server.. she's just terrific... our newest favorite adopted-family member.

I was here a year ago and couldn't wait to return, but that won't happen again. The first time I was here the food was incredible and the service was outstanding. Now it seems like all they are interested in looking good and a restaurant full of people trying to be seen. From the hostesses that seemed to care less about greeting you than looking you over, to the waiters that don't seem to be properly trained on the menu. It's just not worth it. This was one of those restaurants that I couldn't wait to get out of even though I hadn't even been served dinner yet.

Came to this establishment the day after valentines with reservations. We arrived 10mins before so we decided to indulge in the happy hour. The manager told us the one bar was closed but we could sit there and he would have someone take care of us. We order 2 martini's, 6 raw oysters, and the sushi tacos. The drinks came and were great...we waited 40 minutes though for the oysters and sushi tacos. When we asked for the manager he told us that it was the end of happy hour and he was sorry. Our server came back and said he would buy us a round of drinks. By the way the "tacos" were disgusting. The wanton for the shell was soggy and not crispy at all. The tuna didn't look or taste fresh either. We contemplated leaving and going else where. But we took the manager up on his drink offer and moved to the dining room. The food was ehhh, service the same. Nothing excited. We watched 2 parties walk out because the food took so long. Was poorly staffed and unsatisfied...I can't say I'll be back to Salt 7 anytime soon, or again for that matter.

Every time I visit my friends in Delray we come to Salt! I like the lounge outside area.. They are always busy and have a great vibe.. Relaxed yet you still feel like your out. I'm from NYC so I am tough to please and I think this place is great! Staff is always very nice.. Atmosphere is great.. Cocktails are delish.. I recommend the watermelon mojito.. I will go there every time I come to Delray for sure!

Not bad but not great. Happy hour prices were very good $4 Martinis and half app choice apps. I ordered a cucumber martini and edamame. My friend ordered a blood orange martini, lamb Mac and cheese and sliders. My drink was excellent but that was the worst edamame I ever had, over cooked and mushy. The blood orange martini tasted like Tang which I never liked even as a kid. The lamb Mac &cheese only had 3 tiny pieces of lamb but it was still very good, it had a spicy kick to it we liked, I didn't try to sliders but my friend said it was good. So all in all not bad considering price, would try it again.

WORST place ever! My sister and her friend were visiting from NYC. The bartender forgot to give my friend her receipt and when she repeatedly requested one, they called the cops on her! Really? Luckily the cops later apologized and so did the security guard because they realized the bartender had no basis but come on! I will be letting everyone I know NOT to go to this place EVER!!!!

Updated Review: I've been to Salt7 over 6 times now and I don't understand the other Yelper's complaints, although other reviewers probably made their account specifically to bash the restaurant because it's doing such amazing business in Delray (and stealing business from other dying venues!) Not only have I dined here for lunch, I've been here for dinner AND late night - each time was fantastic, exciting and the staff was full of smiles. Yes, they were always busy but they made time to make sure my table was doing well - I had 3 different servers check on my table for quality at one point. The food is phenomenal, the steaks are gorgeous and savory, and the sushi is the FRESHEST fish you'll find in the state of Florida. The drinks, as well as the dazzling wine list, is sure to impress and delight your senses. Salt7 is THE HOTTEST place in Delray Beach with a 5-star menu of palate pleasing delights.

Invited to a friend's 40th birthday party last night and normally if I am making the 40 plus mile trip from Miami to Delray Traimontes is my preferred destination. After a very satisfying experience last night it's easy to see there are many top quality restaurants in the area starting with Salt 7. With a private event we occupied a small room off the front right of the restaurant and the outside area as well. The place itself is mostly open air with outside side tables in many nooks and crannies. Ultra modern sleek look with glass enclosed wine room with a bright main bar and side sushi bar giving this place all the art deco that it can handle. Some more rooms in another dining area towards the back of the place. Saturday night and the place was pretty much packed all night with a young to young adult upscale crowd for the most part dressed smartly Plenty of hostesses dressed scantily in hot black outfits to make sure you want to stay if your their just to peruse the menu. As stated this was a private event of about 50 people and they had a private bar set up for us. Baskets of pretzel bread, along with some looked liked home baked fresh rolls were presented to us along with some lightly sauteed and fried plantains. For our sampling various waiters brought around the following items. Prime Sliders with Truffles - dry aged USDA prime beef, white cheddar, shaved black truffles, served with SALT7 signature sauce. Don't know what to say here other than holy mother of god, like no slider I've ever had absolutely unbelievably good. Prime Meatballs in SALT7 signature sauce were equally outstanding. Sushi time was Yellowtail Jalapeño, sashimi style yellowtail with citrus ponzu and jalapenos. Tuna Poke, big eye red Hawaiian tuna, avocado, citrus ponzu, toasted sesame oil, pineapple, mango, red onions, scallions with crisp plantains & Edamame, steamed with our signature SALT7 blend and toasted sesame oil. Have to take the word of my dining companions who said that it was very good. Not sure if it was the amount being created as they fed a lot of people but many stated it was warm side but fresh and tasty. Final item was Porterhouse 27oz steaks about 8-10 of them deboned and served with asparagus and dipping sauce. From what I can tell all 8 dishes were served Rare. Again not sure if this is how they were ordered or if everything was undercooked. Now I like my steak on the rare side so for me the salty outside flavor and absolutely delicious melt in your mouth meat from both sides of the porterhouse were absolutely frigging outstanding. Complaints were from many who indicated meat was undercooked. Probably should have made a few more to the medium side, but this was outstanding. With an hour drive home I skipped the deserts in lieu of some coffee for the road. Downside was men's bathroom was flooded in one area and stayed that way for over 40 minutes even after management was alerted. Going to give this one 4 stars and that was a private event which was tough enough to do on a Saturday night. Will definitely repeat. Knocks off for bathroom issue, and statement of other guests about sushi temperature. For me it was all good, prime sliders and Porterhouse on that have to have that again soon list! I'll be back!

Had been told i had to try the sushi pizza at Salt for some tine and finally made it for Happy Hour with 3 others. We were early enough to get a comfy sofa outside. Nice prosecco to start and have along with the apps. Had toger prawn roll, sushi tacos and sushi pizza. All were very good. Left to go sonewhere else but returned for 1 more drink. This time we sat at inside bar. Really nice decor and didn't seem too loud. A great place for happy hour

This has to be the single worst bar/restaurant in Delray. Pretentious, vapid bartenders, poor service, overpriced and under poured drinks. Took a bachelorette party of 12 women to Salt under the assumption that it would be a great time but I couldn't have been any more wrong. We were ignored by bartenders until the minute they realized we were about to walk out. The one positive was that there was a great DJ, but there's no dance floor. Not sure how that is supposed to work? I'm surprised this place has lasted as long as it has. I ended up taking the party to Union where we had an incredible time for the rest of the night.

We got there at Happy Hour and everything we had was GREAT! I started out with a very yummy spinach salad with cranberries and walnuts and whatever my friend had as an appetizer was so good that he didn't share. He ordered steak and the bite I had melted in my mouth. I ordered a half dozen oysters thinking that it would tide me over; however, it didn't. I ordered the grilled artichoke and it was yummy, creamy and dreamy. Dessert was the bomb--a collection of sorbets, including chocolate, pistachio and strawberry. (We split a flight of four.) Great wine selection. My only complaint is that I forgot that people can smoke cigars in bars in Florida. We were outside, but the wind was blowing directly at me. I was so happy by my meal that it didn't matter!

Friday night scene is crazy. Early its older people (all good looking) and as night progressed it was all dudes by the truckload. It was a bit like a Gold's Gym just closed shop and they all arrived. Good mix of draft beer and the fresh grapefruit vodka was great for the ladies until they ran out of the fruit. Sliders were really good. Bathroom sinks are shared space, which still feels odd.

I've been there twice now. Their half off sushi was great! Went back to try the full menu and was less than impressed with the food for the price. Also the service was "okay". We felt we had to chase down the staff for drinks and to order our meal. Won't be a frequent visitor.

I have been here a few times and Fred has taken great care of me. I am new to the area and he was not only knowledgeable about the menu and helped guide me through it for a great dinner, he also highlighted some nice spots for me to see around town and was spot on and very friendly.

Placed looked cool from the outside, and that's about as good as it got. Terrible service, subpar food, and dirty bathrooms. Manager had poor customer service skills and that trickled down with the staff. I love going out to eat and I'm easy to please, will never go back.

Well its a 1 for the food but a 4-5 for the bar scene. Seriously AVOID the food completely - the sashimi I ordered was not fresh at all. We ordered a roll with brown rice, it came out with white rice. The waitress then said she didn't know she was out. Semi slow service. As for the bar scene, it was fun and a good crowd. I'd go back for the bar/lounge/drinks.

Went here for appetizers during happy hour, and ordered sushi rolls and meatballs. Or, rather MEATBALL. Yes, for $5, you get one medium-sized meatball. Somewhere back in the kitchen, the chef is laughing. I checked the menu to see if someone had perhaps made a mistake in my order, and forgotten the other meatball that I was sure was intended for my enjoyment. Nope, the menu clearly says, "Meatball." As in one. One meatball. Harumph. The drinks were good, though, and the service friendly. Just be forewarned about the meatball.

Heard Salt had a great happy hour. I think not. Had raw oysters on the menu at $2 each. Asked server if they were tiny or good size. She said the eastern oysters were good size so I ordered 6. They came 3 to a dish with a separate plate for the sauces. The problem was all 6 together would not have made a decent blue point oyster. What a joke. Next came hot dogs in pretzel buns. The hot dogs tasted like they were boiled in water and not grilled. My wife had the fillet bites on pretzel rolls. Nice presentation but only two little bites of meat. The wine was the only thing decent with a good pour. No way I would go back except for a drink before dinner in a real restaurant.

It's a fun place to go to but the service is horrendous. When we went it wasn't that crowded.I don't know if our waitress was drunk or what. She was screwing up my table's orders all night including the bill then had the nerve to argue with us. Maybe she can take my dollar tip and start her own business because her current job definitely isn't working for her. I'd go back again but for drinks only.

I wish I can give this place 0 stars. This is the worst restaurant I have ever experienced. I am beginning to think the restaurant hired people to write positive reviews because there is no way this many people have been satisfied with food from here. The staff was rude, inattentive, and had no idea what exactly they were doing. Even after complaining the "manager" completely ignored our table while he flirted with the trashy drunk crowd. The entrees are $28-75 per plate everything is a la carte. We were served water in PLASTIC BEER CUPS in the dining room. Our waiter told us all the water glasses were dropped and smashed, but every single other table around us had a glass with ice water.... The food was inedible: edamame soaked in old burnt oil with no salt, sushi rolls had unidentifiable ingredients that they pass off as "fish", salmon was frozen in center and served to our table as "medium", plates were dirty, raw fish tasted like garbage. They tried to pass off imitation crabmeat as king crab in a $17 sushi roll! What kind of quality would this place be considered? My animals eat better than this. We walked out after waiting 2+ hrs wasting our time and being served the horrid entrees. I have never left a restaurant so irritated and worried for the healthy of fellow diners. I made sure to turn away the large crowd near valet and send them some where else.

I have been to Sushi Rock in OH and it is so much better than this. This place is chaos! I take it the reason why it is so packed is because there is no where else for these people to go late night in Delray. You will see all ages (be careful because your skin always tells your real age, no amount of plastic surgery is going to change that). The men who hang around here tend to lean on the rude side. They seemed to have never heard of Ladies First and deem it acceptable to step on your feet. The drinks are very heavy handed and maybe if I was 21 that would be cool. My experience with the staff was pleasant. They really need to consider expanding or moving to a larger space or getting a second bar. I cannot say what it is like for lunch or dinner. My experience was late night.

Was off to a great start when I spoke to a woman who might hold the title of "Nicest Lady in Delray Beach" on the phone to arrange our reservations. She was friendly and attentive, and arranged our group of 4 with no issue. When we arrived, we were en route to a table in the dining room that was so bright it felt like a Denny's, when I asked the hostess for a different seating option. She sat us in the front private room that featured 0 other guests and a 42" TV playing the Olympics...I was confused...high-end restaurant or sports bar? Our server was extremely friendly (borderline over attentive), but unknowingly nay-sayed a bottle of wine we wanted to order. When we went to order the bottle anyway, they were out of stock. (better known as Strike 1, or 1.5 after the strange ambiance upon entrance). We opted to share a bunch of appetizers for dinner, and what followed was one lousy and over priced excuse for a first course after another. Let's start with the oysters priced at a cool $5 a piece (of 12, 1 was bad-Strike 2), U5 shrimp (probably the one thing that wasn't messed up), two sushi rolls that lacked flavor and texture, a dried out meatball with a drizzle of sauce that just made me mad, carpaccio that needed SALT, and the yellowtail jalapeño that had everyone's faces on fire. From the other reviews, it seems like they are just hot or cold, and for the $400 price tag on our meal, I wouldn't roll the dice again. There are way too many better options on the Ave that offer better food for a better price.

The happy hour is unbelievable. My wife and I got so much delicious food and drinks (multiple) for $31.00 (It was sushi Wednesday mind you). As great as the happy hour was is as absurd as regular prices were. Go for happy hour and you will have a great experience. Go any other time and expect to pay way too much for way too little. No in between. The service at the bar was very good. We began at the bar for an hour or so. When our friends arrived we moved to a table and everything fell apart after that. It was like two different realms. I'd definitely go back but only for the happy hour.

Salt has a great happy hour. I think it was $3 drafts and half off appetizers. All the food was great, atmosphere was good, bartenders were great. I just cant give it a full review because I've only been there for happy hour.

Original sushi. Excellent steaks. Wonderful bar. Great service. Nice ambience. On the boulevard of broken restaurants, this one is a gem. No idea why Emily C had bad sushi. Every time I've been there it has not only been fresh, but it has been unique. The chef creates rolls and dishes that aren't served everywhere else up and down the strand. I am going back to try the steaks, as I hear they rock too. The raw bar, by the way, is a must. They get great oysters and they use 5 count (per lb) shrimp, the Godzilla of shrimp! All well prepared and served. Far better than swill joints like the Office or Sazio across the street. The service is excellent. The bar is deep with great booze like Stoli Elite and the killer B craft bourbons (Bookers, Blantons, Basil Hayden, Buffalo Trace). They have an outdoor bar space and comfy couches to enjoy Florida winters. This place is great! Patio and outdoor seating could use some ciggy cleanups more often, and the Valet could be subsidized down to about $7 from its current $10 (32 East does it, y'all). Still, it's a destination eatery for me.

I hadn't had sushi in awhile so I thought why not this place. We were greeted happily by the hostess and singing bartender. The restaurant was huge, modern and empty. We were sat in a nicely designed open purple dining room. The reason I remember it being purple was the fact that the paint looked like it had seen it's share of bar fights and furniture accidents. That's when I figured out that this place was actually a bar that was open for lunch and served pricey food with a skeleton crew. The service was so nice but the kitchen was so slow. Our intent was to get a quick bite and be on about our day. We lunched for 90 minutes over three items. I ordered the crunchy tuna roll that was presented very nicely, tasted OK but a nightmare to eat. The roll was cut thin and diagonally to get the largest unwieldy fall-apartiest piece possible. T got salmon nigiri beautifully presented three very thick cuts of nice looking fish. Turns out you couldn't bite through it, so chewing was out of the question. She tried to cut a piece with the large steak knife that was present at the table and that just rolled it around the plate. I can't say I have seen that before. I also had a fruit and green salad. It was fruits and greens. Don't go to a nightclub for lunch. Lesson learned.

I may as well of thrown $85 in the trash. I am not a picky eater by any means, but everything my daughter & I ordered was terrible. First we order claims casino for $18 we got 3 oysters that were made with raw spinach, a bland cream type sauce and a little Parmesan cheese that you can tell we're then put into a microwave which of course caused the oyster to be shriveled to a tiny ball leaving the spinach still half raw. When I told the server that it was the worst oyster Rockefeller I have ever has, she was very good and offered to remove them from my bill. Then we received the steak tar tar appetizer which was so overpowered with lemon rind it ruined the taste at a cost of $18 plus the meat was not top quality, I know food. We said nothing, then we received a mackie type Japanese roll that was labeled lobster & filet steak roll that sounded good, but when my daughter & I took a bite it literally made us feel nauseated . The so called lobster if that was what it was, awes soggy, perhaps someone deep fried it I oil that was not hot enough, it was rolled with 2 pieces of asparagus in rice paper with piece of raw meat on top, the sauce on top of the whole thing was sickening. The whole thing was absolutely terrible which cost around $31.00. I had one drink and the whole terrible diner (which was suppose to be celebrating my daughters birthday) cost $84. As mentioned I may as well thrown the money in the trash. Worst Food I have ever eaten.

Really Poor Quality and bad service!!! We were a group of 4 couples and the only diners when we arrived at 7PM on a Sunday night. One of our friends ordered a wedge salad with no onions or egg; it came out with both. I ordered a Caesar Salad which was completely soggy and with no flavor; the lettuce seemed old. After the waiter specifically said they are known for their steaks, I ordered the 8oz filet, medium rare. It arrived very "well done" so I asked for a new one. It arrived fairly quickly, but when I cut into it, was completely raw on the inside, actually still cold. They brought it back to be cooked further. When it arrived, after everyone already finished their entree's, I took a bite; it was as salty as one could ever imagine. As I was hungry and didn't want to hold up the rest of the party, I ate it...A day later, I'm still drinking water by the gallon!! Another of our friends had the crab cake and lobster entrée. They commented that the crab cakes where rubber like and bland. Now to top off the evening, one of us paid in cash and three of us by credit card. They ran my card twice. So now not only did I pay for another couples dinner, I paid double for a really BAD dinner.

My wife and I eat there often. We love the sushi and the service is amazing. We enjoy how the 70's disco lighting changes the color of your sushi. is that tuna or salmon? Sure, you can get a great steak at the sizzler or outback, but you can't find a more over priced steak that salt7. See you back this Friday.

Bad bad restaurant. Very overpriced. Ouch! Noisy and night-club atmosphere inside. Outside cafe overlooking city park, good. Wine list, good. But it is the food that is so bad. Highly salted onion soup. Sugary and salty chile calamari tasted like chemicals. The Japanese rolls were disgusting and not made to order. We sent the fishy tasting spider rolls back. Don't even bother. Go to 32 East or Jimmy's Bistro or Tramante's. Salt is about fake food. Salt is not Slow Food.

First off it tales a lot to make me mad but this place succeeded. We had 9:00 reservations and were sat 10:30. They did give us a free round of drinks. But actually getting our drink order and food order took another hour. The excuse was that the waiter had to take care of his other table of 20the guests. So none of this was our waiters fault. But finally when our order was taken were thought we were in the home run but he comes back 20 min later to say they are out of the special and brown rice. Really rice? Its this a sushi restaurant? !? Ok so we get our food. I had a salad. It was so lame! A $14 small salad that was no good. The only reason I ate it was b/c I was starving. On the good note if you just want a loud bar atmosphere then fine. Good choice of liquor (not sure @ beer selection, I didn't look) But if u want good food and service go elsewhere. Atlantic has many choices.

Very disappointing!! Went here for a special night and it turned into a disaster. I must say our waitress was really great and she really tried to compensate for the terrible food. My husband had a streak that was so over-salted that he returned it and he never likes to return anything. It was inedible. My seabass needed salt. The brussel sprouts were mushy with proscuitto thrown on top. The mash potatoes had whole garlic cloves thrown in. It really is annoying when you get all dressed up and pay a lot of money for a big disappointment. I don't mind spending the cash for a great meal but for a less than mediocre one, it ticks me off. Not worth it for the price you will pay.

We were First and the last time in that place. Over priced, bad service, I asked girl 2 times no ice for kids but she still bring juice full of ice. Lazy staff, girls or smart at all, not listening customers needs. Don't waiste your time and money there. There are plenty better places around.

Ugh, food is average in taste and above average price. Lunch for two- no drinks- was $70! Now if the service or food is great, I don't care what I pay- but in this case, neither shined enough to make it worth it.

Nothing spectacular. I dined here with my husband on a whim one night on the Ave. We have a spot we typically go to, but I wanted to try something different. I wasn't impressed much. The food was overpriced, in my opinion, for the quality. I had the seared tuna, to which I paid well over what I thought it was worth. My husband had a few different sushi rolls (I can't recall which ones), but he said they were nothing spectacular. We did have a brussel sprout prosciutto, which was yummy. Drink wise, we had wine, so I can't attest to the bartending skills or the cocktail quality. They have a large bar that faces outside, and it was fairly busy when we left, so they must be doing something right. The waitstaff seemed a bit frazzled that night, and I could also hear/see, from where I was sitting, the back of the house staff. For a place that advertises an upscale atmosphere, they should try and disguise/hide the back of the house entry way a bit more. Our waitress almost dropped our bottle of wine, and furthermore, did not present it properly (hardly anyone does these days, so I don't count against it, but it would be nice to be served properly for once). She seemed busy, so stopped by only when needed. We never had to wait for anything, so that was fine. What really struck me as odd was the music selection. I can attest to hearing Lionel Richie's "I just called to say I love you', followed by Madonna's 'Vogue'. It did not fit in AT ALL. It all seemed very thrown together to me - not well planned out for a dining atmosphere. Almost like the owners were in a disagreement of which direction they wanted to go (I want sushi, well I want a steakhouse!), and they setlled in the middle. Towards the end of the dinner, I did see two staff members working with an extension cord, and dragging it from somewhere to an inside plug. The cord was thrown in the middle of a walkway. Granted, it could have been being used to power a bar cooler, or something of the matter, but I would think it would have to be a serious emergency to haul out an extension cord in the middle of my dining rush. All in all, it was mediocre. There are other places on the Ave I'd go to first. I am a dessert fan, so perhaps I'd come back to try dessert and a drink - they did have a packed bar so perhaps they have something good going on there.

South Florida dining can be hit or miss but this place was a solid home run. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and entertaining. My girlfriend got the most amazing watermelon infused vodka martini and the food was to die for. I had a rib eye which was perfect in every way and the sauce it came with was insanely good, she had a sushi roll with lobster and filet mignon which was creative and delicious. This place isn't cheap but I'd say it's well worth it.

Absolutely horrible experience. Waited 30 minutes for our drinks (party of 4); when we complained about waiting so long the waiter responded, "we are busy, its not our fault." Food was horrible, we ordered two ceviche which was 90% onions and green peppers. We asked to speak to the manager and he never came. Bill was over $300 for extremely poor service and overpriced low quality food. I guess they expect to survive on atmosphere and location. There are much better choices on Atlantic Avenue. Poor food, poor service and horrible arrogant attitude from the staff.

This place is an upscale bar/lounge. Standard cocktail runs you about $8. The food is tasty but pricey. They play hip hop/ dance music later in the evening. This is a very grown and sexy place, make sure you dress appropriately. Service was attentive overall and there was a good looking crowd. Delray needed a spot like this. Highly recommend it!

Horrible customer service. My daughters charge card was billed three times. Getting the establishment to correct the issue let alone call back with a resolution has been impossible. We'll let the bank handle it and never go back. Would've left a no star rating due to the lack of customer service but had to leave something in order for this to post.

It was our first time there. We are local Delray residents that frequent town 4 nights a week. The place is a welcomed addition and we were excited to go. The service was poor, unprofessional and very sloppy. The food was excellent and the presentation was as well. We will try it one more time. For the prices they want to charge they need to step it up and do a much better job of hiring staff. We were there on a Thursday night so no weekend excuses.I would welcome the opportunity to speak with the owners.

Don't bother. Menu looked good so we were excited to try Salt7. Cool decor & good music, place was full. Ordered 3 cocktails & iced tea, we asked 3 times but bartender never brought iced tea or limes. Service at table was so-so. Salt7 signature salad was nothing special. Meatball app with "siganture Salt7 sauce" had NO sauce, meatballs were good. Crunchy Tuna Roll had hardly any tuna in it. Our friends each ordered a Filet which they both liked. My bone-in ribeye was lukewarm & had NO flavor (they put a Salt7 sauce on the side which was good). Sides weren't flavorful (spinach, mushroms, potatoes au gratin & truffle fries, which I had to send back for truffle oil)! We didn't bother with desserts. Told waitress how everything was & she didn't send management over. Disappointing overall. Go to Buddah Sky bar in Delray or Chops in Boca if you want to spend money on great food & good service..

THE GOOD. THE NOT SO GOOD. The good: Great Hotdogs appetizers. Yum - on pretzel bread. Plus the location. Cant beat it. Indoor / outdoor seating. The not so good: Bar service is ..sorry to say - bad!! can take 20 mins to get a drink, even when its slow. the bright spot is a new bartender named Bronwyn, one of the few thats really efficient and actually friendly. A plus: they do have a lot of sponsored events. charity etc... and they do them VERY well, it gets super crowded, but they do get out of their box and go for it. and they are very busy on weekend nights, but best left for the 20-3o year olds who by midnite are way over their drinking limit and the shrieking begins. beware! but be prepared to not easily get a drink, and if you manage to get service order two, they dont come back often!

I really wanted to LOVE Salt7. Truly. I have been watching this place for a long time and finally got the right group of friends to make the drive up to Delray. The pluses are ambiance, location, wine list, dessert list and friendly-ness/knowledge of the waitstaff. The negatives: we had a reservation for four, we asked to be sat at a five or six top because as a group we all love to share plates, sample food and report our great restaurant finds. We ended up at a tiny table (best for 2). Awfully cramped and having to skip a few appetizers for lack of room. My next critique is more of a personal peeve, I don't eat meat or dairy and so I was left with a vegetarian roll - I don't know if they have tried this roll in the kitchen. It was too large to eat in one bite (the point of sushi), so I had to cut each piece in half. The veggies were fresh (bonus) but the roll itself had no imagination. They should add some kind of avocado or fruit to perk it up. It's very flat. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food - I heard another complain about the sushi rolls being too big. I would give it another try, it's a gorgeous place in the heart of one of the better spots in south Florida and I've read great reviews. Next time I'll try the miso soup and a fresh salad.
